Privacy Policy

EFFECTIVE AND LAST UPDATED: OCTOBER 6, 2026

This policy provides general information, not legal advice. Consult a qualified attorney about your legal rights.

This policy describes what information the Site handles, why, who helps us process it, and the choices and rights you may have.

01Who we are and scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Summerset Marine Construction, LLC ("Summerset," "we," "us") handles personal information in connection with piers-lifts.com (the "Site"), an inventory catalog of pre-owned piers and boat lifts. It applies to this Site; it does not automatically apply to other Summerset websites, which may have their own policies, or to third-party sites.

02Information we collect

  • Inquiries. When you voluntarily call or email us, we receive the contact information and message content you provide, such as your name, phone number, email address and details about equipment you are interested in. The Site has no public signup or online checkout.
  • Staff accounts. For authorized staff who sign in with Google, we process the account email address, Google account identifier, assigned roles, session information, and audit logs of access and changes made in administration tools.
  • Technical information. When anyone visits the Site, our hosting infrastructure receives information such as IP address, browser and device details, requested pages, timestamps, and security and error logs.
  • Listing content. Inventory photographs and descriptions are used to create listings. Photos may incidentally include people, vehicles, property or other potentially identifying details.

03How we use information

We use information to:

  • respond to inquiries and provide sales and service follow-up;
  • manage inventory and publish public listings and staff-supplied photographs;
  • operate, maintain, secure and troubleshoot the Site;
  • manage staff access, roles and change audit records;
  • comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

04Service providers

We use service providers that process information on our behalf for the functions below. Their handling of information is also governed by their own policies.

  • Replit: hosts the Site, database and file storage. replit.com/privacy
  • Google: Google sign-in (staff only); Google Drive (source assembly photos); Google Fonts (font files requested by your browser); and Google Workspace (business email and contact handling). policies.google.com/privacy
  • Oracle NetSuite: inventory and business records, including listing descriptions. oracle.com/legal/privacy
  • Elfsight: the Google reviews widget shown on public pages, which displays Google reviews. elfsight.com/privacy-policy

05Inventory photographs

Staff-supplied inventory photographs are copied from Google Drive into website storage and optimized for display. Source photographs remain in Drive. The current photo workflow does not send images to an AI generation service.

06Cookies and third-party requests

The Site uses cookies needed for staff sign-in, including session cookies and temporary Google OAuth state. Visitors who do not sign in generally do not need these cookies.

Public pages also make requests to third parties: your browser fetches fonts from Google Fonts and loads the Elfsight reviews widget. These third parties may receive your IP address and browser information and may set or read their own cookies. Their practices are governed by their own policies and controls.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; doing so may prevent staff sign-in from working. The Site does not provide its own cookie preferences center.

07When we disclose information

We disclose personal information only:

  • to service providers processing it on our behalf as described above;
  • when required by law, legal process or governmental request;
  • when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, safety or security of Summerset, our customers, the Site or others;
  • in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality safeguards, with this policy continuing to apply to the information transferred unless you are notified otherwise as required by law.

Public listings, including photographs, are visible to anyone who visits the Site.

08Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, considering the category of information and our business, legal, accounting and security needs. Records are retained for business and legal purposes. When information is no longer needed we delete or de-identify it, subject to lawful record-keeping obligations and the time it takes for routine backups to cycle out.

09Security

We use reasonable measures designed to protect information, including access controls and secure Google sign-in limited to authorized company accounts. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10Where information is processed

Our service providers may process information in locations outside your state or country, where laws may differ. Where required, such processing is subject to applicable safeguards.

11Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live and the laws that apply, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal information, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. These rights vary and do not apply universally.

To make a request, email info@summersetmarine.com. We will verify requests in a manner proportionate to the sensitivity of the information, and we accept requests from authorized agents where the law requires. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights. Where applicable, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority or regulator.

12Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

14Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Updates apply prospectively and will be posted here with a revised effective date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice of material changes.
